Learn About Dogs and Responsible Dog Ownership Through Free Presentations!
HDC member Colleen Rafatti is a certified AKC Canine Ambassador.
On behalf of the club, she presents lectures and short workshops on these topics to community groups and clubs, assisted by other club members with expertise in the topic area selected for each presentation. (Other topics can also be arranged.)
One topic that has been extremely well received is "Responsible Dog Ownership"; it includes information on proper feeding/ health care/ exercise and training/socialization for your family dog.
Another very popular session is "Safely Approaching and Interacting with Dogs". Often presented to children's groups, it teaches them how to safely meet unfamiliar dogs and how to react if approached by a strange dog in a public space.
